Hampton Roads Partnership Launches Listen and Learn Tour to Gauge Support For Regional Citizenship and Cooperations

The Hampton Roads Partnership is engaging audiences across southeastern Virginia to gauge interest in regional cooperation and solicit ideas to achieve it.

Since August 2005, HRP representatives and skilled moderators from Rubin Communications Group. a local public relations firm, have engaged city councils as well as a diverse assortment of leadership, service, social, political, business and taxpayer organizations in a discussion of our region.

At each stop, facilitators Joel Rubin or Dan Cawley have given attendees an opportunity to talk about what they like or don’t like about the region, whether they believe local governments or other agencies are working together and if not, where such cooperation would be most beneficial.

Through this process we have received volumes of useful and heartfelt input, which has been published into reports and recorded on a website, www.listenandlearntour.com.

The comments will help guide development of a region-wide initiative on regional citizenship to be announced in the spring of 2006.
