Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance is an initiative of the Mayors and Chairs Caucus, established to collectively focus area efforts on preserving and growing Federal capabilities within the Hampton Roads region for the common good and welfare of citizens. Hampton Roads Performs is a website focusing on how well the region is doing on a broad array of quality of life indicators. The purpose is to inform and engage citizens with Hampton Roads’ progress and its future as well as significantly enhancing government transparency and accountability. It shows real world results and supplements efforts by government and civic leaders on the development and implementation of a roadmap for Hampton Roads’ future. Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, and its sister organization, the federally-mandated Metropolitan Planning Organization, serve as public forum for local, elected officials and chief public administrators to deliberate and decide issues of regional importance. HRPDC is one of 21 such associations formed by the Virginia legislature. HRPDC serves as a resource of technical expertise on matters such as Environmental Planning, Emergency Management, and Transportation. HRPDC.org

Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) is the body created by the Hampton Roads localities and appropriate state and federal agencies to perform the duties of an MPO under the federal regulations. Federal regulations require that urbanized areas throughout the United States have a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to conduct a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning process. Urbanized areas are defined as areas with a population of 200,000 or greater, known as Transportation Management Areas (TMA). HRTPO.org

Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) is a not-for-profit, collaborative enterprise center of Old Dominion University located at the Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation (MAST) Center, wich is a cooperative effort between Suffolk and Portsmouth in promotion of the modeling and simulation industry in Hampton Roads. www.VMASC.ODU.edu
