In addition, almost 88% of students who graduate from High School decide to continue their studies in higher-level education such as two-year institutions, four-year institutions, and vocational programs. There are several public schools in Hampton Road such as Franklin City Public Schools, Isle of Wight Schools, Chesapeake Public School Districts, Hampton City Schools, Norfolk Public Schools, Newport News Public Schools, Portsmouth Public Schools, Poquoson Public Schools, Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and Suffolk City Schools. In addition, Hampton Road is also supported by the presence of the Governor’s STEM Academic. The first one is the Architecture and Applied Arts Governor’s STEM Academy. The students can choose the engineering and technology, visual arts, and design field in this academy. The second one is the First Governor’s Career and Technical Academy that focuses on Engineering and Technology. The Grassfield High School Governor’s STEM Academy focuses on Engineering, Technology, Software Development, Programming Development, and Marketing Management. Meanwhile, the Greater Peninsula Governor’s STEM Academy focuses on Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Hampton Road is also supported by several types of the workforce training institution. For example, the Apprentice School that is operated by the Newport News Shipyard. This school focuses on educating almost 24000 workforces. Another workforce training institution is Career and Technical Education (CTE). This institution educates almost 550000 students. Another workforce training institution in Hampton Road is Paul D. Camp Community College (PDCCC). This college will provide two-year programs along with the certificate and training. The students will get some services such as education courses, customized training, consulting services, and assessment of job candidates.
